Vision and Mission
CAIR-Texas is a chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a nonprofit, grassroots civil rights and advocacy organization. CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties organization with affiliate offices nationwide. CAIR’s mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
The Texas chapter is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization which formed in Houston in December 2002. Our vision is to be a leading advocate for justice and mutual understanding. As a leading voice for the Houston Muslim Community, we strive to maintain the highest ethical standards in all of our endeavors.
